Blueberrys

i’m in memphis now
listening to all you said
crying where everyone looks

under red light i stumble
sit down in black
spilling the white on the counter

it’s been six years
since i’ve touched
the blues feel like wood

against my cheek
it doesn’t make any sense in
the light of day

daylight hurts where
flowers mark the memorial
of memories down the same river

a broken heart on a hook
i wait there to see
if i can feel you

risk is luck and takes time
nobody wants to go alone
traveling through the rain

to get back home
will you be waiting for me?
