“Do I
cut you out like scissors and paper,
precision,
on the line?
Do I
wash you out,
Windex,
kills 99% of viruses,
no residue left behind?
Do I
drink you out,
straight vodka for the crying,
whiskey for the tears,
or hold it back with wine?
I don’t know,
I don’t do this too often,
put my trust in someone in caution,
and in fear
of what happened here.
Where’s the guidebook,
the directions,
the vice?
I keep asking questions,
but answers would be nice.
Is there another way,
other than screaming into pillows,
crying myself blind?
Is there a method a little less rough,
a little more kind?
How do I get us
and this
and you
out of my mind?”
